My name is Tracy and I have created this channel to share helpful videos on art and craft related topics. I have a passion for Zentangle® and Zentangle Inspired Art and I'm a Certified Zentangle Teacher. I also love silk painting, glass engraving, sewing, crochet and just being creative in general.
I started this channel so that I would have a place to express myself creatively, to share my knowledge and to reach out to a community of like minded people. Feel free to ask questions at any time and if you have a particular art related topic that you would like me to cover on this channel I would love to be of assistance.
I am currently based on the Mid-North Coast of NSW, Australia and you can reach out to me on social media, my website or email me: tracy@tracyannewilkinson.com

4)love this video
Thank you so much!
what brand water color pencils do you use? And is that a nylon brush? You make it all look so easy. I love how you make period art look easy.
Thank you! In this video I think I used watercolour pencils from Zentangle’s project packs and maybe some other loose pencils I had lying around but mostly I use Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils by Faber Castell. The paintbrush was a fairly inexpensive synthetic brush.
Complimenti per la fantasia. È fantastico. 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Thank you so much! 💕
Curious to know why you use watercolour pencils rather than paint.
It’s just one technique. I try to show people a variety of mediums throughout my videos. Any different mediums can be substituted in most of my videos. You could absolutely use paint instead.
The red and black pencil you use in this isn’t common here in my area! I’ve had one and loved it… sawed it in half so I had better size. More tanglers lose Zentangle pencils cause what Z/ sends us are rounded. How many times on a plane or elsewhere mine has rolled right off the tray table…. Ugh!!!
I never thought about it. This type of Pencil is common in my home.
Me encanta!!!!! Tu arte. Geacias. Saludos desde Cancun México.
Thank you so much! 💕
❤very beautiful tracy❤
Thank you so much!💕
Are you not doing any lessons anymore? Miss you…
Thank you Sandy. I found it hard to keep up with making videos when my elderly parents moved in with me. They both have serious health problems… cancer and heart disease amongst their ailments. I’ve been doing some courses on children’s book illustration, working at my own pace when I get the time. If my situation changes, I will make more videos but unfortunately, I can’t predict when that might happen.
@@TracyAnneWilkinson Thank you for answering… i felt that something was taking you away from your videos - it is hard when parents need more attention; i hope you are at least finding time to tangle for your own pleasure once in awhile. Your viewers will pop back in when/if you resume as you have been a good resource. I know (now 81) I have less energy for teaching (CZT 33) although the demand is there. Blessings surround you.
❤
💕
Thank you. I wonder why always have gellies what son't do their work well. I have tried all gelly-pens that exist, but no one can draw one longer line. I also have that one what you use, Please do you have a tric or tipp for me? How are you able to use them so as it should be? I would be thankful for an answer. And perhaps do you also know what kind of pen is good to make a test-drawing before using the gellies. I want to see it on black paper and can erase it afterwards. 💜🤍🖤
A common problem when using white gel pens is pressing too hard. I must admit I did this when first using them. A very light touch allows the ink to flow. Get the ink flowing on a scrap piece of paper before using on your tile. Use a white charcoal pencil or a white chalky pastel pencil for doing a test run before committing to a gel pen. These pencils can be erased once the ink in your pen dries.
@@TracyAnneWilkinson Thank you a lot, Tracy. I nearly don't touch the paper, because I know that it is bad to press too much. And I always try to make a few lines on a tissue or piece of paper. I think I have the half of the pen gel on a tissue instead of my picture. 🙄Bud sadly it doesn't help really. May be I have only dry pens? 😄 I will try the white coal pencil for the test-drawing - thank you. 💛💚💙
Que belleza, amo el Art Deco, y amo tu trabajo. En Mexico hay muchos edificios Art Deco y son bellisimos. Saludos desde Cancun México.

Could you do a video on how to shade with watercolour pencils?
I’m not making more videos at the moment but you might find this video on shading with watercolour pencils helpful: ua-cam.com/users/playlistlist=PLfqMwhMpbwTJEA1RkT6xYmVDevosZLhPY If you go to my channel page and look at the playlists, I also have a group of videos in which I use watercolour pencils. Here is another link to a video which shows some different ways of using watercolour pencils: ua-cam.com/video/OCh56Gl0cmc/v-deo.html
This one had me going cross-eyed for a bit. It's an optical illusion I think. Beautiful design. Thank you Tracy. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you! You too!

@@TracyAnneWilkinson I think I'm addicted to your work. I'm going to watch one more before bed time. Hope you are doing well. Thanks again for the education.
@@anitamitchell3452 thank you so much. I am well thank you.
Amazing!! Didn't expect that when you trew the salt on the paper...really beautifull🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much 😊
Newbie here. Do you seal your work when finished? It is lovely! I would definitely want to preserve this!!
I only use a mat fixative when I use a charcoal pencil or any other chalky mediums like pastels or pastel pencils.
I haven’t seen anything more beautiful since i discovered Zentangle Art
Thank you! 💕
Thank you for sharing 🤗
You are so welcome
What is the name of that pen?
I’m not sure which pen you are talking about but there is a full list of pens in the description below the video. if you click on the word… more on the description it will expand so that you see the full list of materials used in the video.
The final result is incredible! Thanks for sharing this tutorial. Congrats from Brazil. ❤🕊
You’re welcome 😊
Beautifully beachy! 😊❤

Absolutely stunning !!! Wow!
Thank you so much! 🙂
You took the words out of my mouth. Just beautiful Tracy. Looks like you had a good time. Wouldn't that pattern look great around a door jam? Super size it! Have a great day!
Hello, where can I buy fine white markers for drawing on black paper ?
I use white gel pens. I buy them from a local office supplies store or online through Amazon.
Can I also draw with a fountain pen? Do you think it works as well as a fineliner?
you can use any pen but if you ever want to put watercolours over the top of your drawing make sure you use permanent ink so that it doesn’t smudge. if you are drawing over the top of dry watercolour then it won’t matter.
Thank you very much.
Чем производит затенение?Простой карандаш и чем растушевка?
Shading helps give your work a more 3 dimensional effect. On the video I start shading at 20:15 using a pencil. You can then blend this to soften the effect. I use a blending stump which can also be called a tortillion. It is made from tightly rolled paper. I buy mine from art/craft shops. You can blend using your finger but this way can be a bit messy.
😍🤓❤
💕
very beautiful...
Thanks for watching
You do beautiful work! I particularly love the book marks. How do I preserve the charcoal when using the book mark? Thanks!
I would recommend some sort of fixative. I use: Micador for Artists - Fixative workable Matt - clear, permanent protection for pastel, charcoal, chalk and pencil work.
Please, please, please, keep bringing those gorgeous Art Deco and Art Nouveau Designs. They are wonderfull for cards, gift wraps, paintings, whatever's. Thank you for bring these designs to us. Lets see more of these, please!!🤗💗
Hi Tracy, I found you just by accident on you tube, but what a happy accident. I'm a watercolor artist from the Great Southwestern Untied States. I just love Art Nouveau, as well as Art Deco, but I do all kinds of art. I will be following you on you tube now. Thank You for your lovely art form.
thank you Gayle!
How beautiful you draw these lovely curved lines and flowers. I'm going to try and do some of these kinds of drawings. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely art work with all of us artists.

Tracey can I buy Zentangle supplies from you in Australia?
sorry, I don’t do much tangling these days. The freight from the US is very expensive. There is a lady who lives in Cairns who does sell Zentangle supplies. her name is Yvonne Rein and she has a Facebook group called Yintangles. it’s a great group and they have a zoom meeting once a month. if you join this group, you will find all the information you need about buying Zentangle materials here in Australia.
BEAUTIFUL ❤
